How To Achieve A Stress-Free Office Move
How To Achieve A Stress-Free Office Move

A home move is bad enough, but when looking into an office move things can get even more hectic. You have to take a lot more into consideration for your relocation, such as your staff, clients and a location to suit your company. This helpful guide will provide you with some tips to ensure your move goes a little more smoothly. These tips can take some of the stress out of your big change.

1.    See the change as a new start. It’s important to begin your move with a positive attitude. For whatever reason you are moving to a new space, see it as a good thing and a new start. Get your staff excited about it and add in a few perks. Let them know of all the better facilities there will be and what’s around locally.

2.    Look into location. You need to take a few things into consideration for picking the location of your new office. Look for places that have public transport nearby; a good tube link would be the ideal but if not, then reliable bus routes are your next best thing. Make sure there is a bit of life around; generally with offices come cafes and bars, but if you can find a place where there are already a few places to eat then that’s a bonus. Look for green spaces in the area so that people can really take advantage of their lunch break during the warmer months.

3.    Talk to moving companies. For an office move you are definitely going to need to call in professional movers. Cheap removals in London are fairly easy to come by if you do your research. Ask around for a quote in advance to ensure you are getting the best deal and always make sure you are honest about the work load to avoid any extra costs on the day.

4.    Communicate with your staff. Don’t forget to let your staff and clients know about the move early. Drum up excitement with your clients and even do a welcome party or drinks to make sure regular business knows where you have gone. Let staff know the date of the move so that they can make sure they haven’t left anything behind or turn up at the wrong location. Remember to give them a few days to settle in and expect a couple of days where some may be late as they figure out the new route to work.

5.    Get in the cleaners. Even if your new place doesn’t need a clean, your old one certainly will. You want to ensure that your get your entire deposit back so make sure you look into cleaning companies early to find the right one for you. You want to trust that you can leave someone there to get things done efficiently while you get on with the rest of your move.

6.    Put together a moving checklist. For all those little things such as a changing you address, sorting out electrical appliances and organizing promotion of your new space you may need a list to get organized. There will be a lot to do, so sit down and get a list of all the things you are going to need to get done into place. That way, you can get a realistic idea of costs and planning.

7.    Take your time. You don’t want a last minute rush so begin you relocation early to avoid panic later. Make sure you plan ahead and ask for any help you may need early on, ask if any of your staff would be willing to help as well.
